In the film, only Rocket is able to access a formal education, while Goose, like him, becomes a gunlinger. Nevertheless, the movie is an excellent example of how Goose aims to provide his younger brother with a quality education. Lins was the first person in his family to earn a degree, and his brothers were responsible for working and paying his fees.

The creators of Rocket were inspired by the experiences of Lins and a photographer friend, with Fernando Meirelles serving as the co-director. The movie 'City of God' follows Rocket as a result of his criminal activities, as the newspaper publishes his images of gangsters in the favela, which grants him a job and steady income.

Camara, who was working alongside a friend in school at the age of 15, went to Cidade de Deus and posed for photos with guns, reportedly breaking into drug traffickers, making it the first time in history. He is currently a freelance photographer based in London, having left the job in while still associated with Rocket, an American photographer.

Unfortunately, his boss does not move him to the sports department due to his exceptional reporting on the local streets and crime. Lins and her daughter Camara were truly abandoned in the same area many years ago.
