Edward Jones born 30 January is an Australian rugby union coach and former player. He most recently coached the Australia national team from January until October He coached Australia between and , taking the team to the Rugby World Cup final. In November , Jones was appointed head coach of England and led them to win the and Six Nations Championships, becoming only the second national team to be unbeaten in a calendar year.
In , he had a brief spell at Saracens in England's Premiership, before returning to Suntory Sungoliath for a second spell which culminated in winning the —12 Top League championship. They have a daughter, Chelsea Jones. Jones started his playing career at Matraville Sports High School. He played as a hooker for Randwick between and and New South Wales.
He retired to concentrate on a career as a teacher and school principal. He is described in the Randwick Hall of Fame as follows: "A light-weight and mobile hooker who played club games from to , scoring 14 tries. His first grade games numbered and in them he scored 10 tries.
